About

The Show:
Broadcast for the first time in September 2010, Miles to Go Before I Sleep is a weekly radio show which combines my voracious appetites for both poetry and jazz. I spin mostly jazz tunes (with the occasional blues, funk, or soul track thrown in) laid down by everyone from Ellington and Parker to Coltrane and Mingues to Cullum and The Bad Plus, always concluding with the perfect pairing of Robert Frost (with a reading of Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening) and Miles Davis (with whatever tune suits me best at that time of night). Whether you're burning the midnight oil or settling in for the night, Miles to Go on WKCO is the perfect way to spend your Thursday night, from midnight until 2:00 AM.

The Station:
Kenyon College's free-form radio station, WKCO, was conceived and built in 1947 by returning war veterans who used knowledge gleaned during World War II to plan and build all of the equipment themselves. Today, WKCO features musical and non-musical programming as eclectic and informed as Kenyon's student body, and is still an entirely student-run radio station broadcasting at 91.9 FM in the greater Gambier, Ohio area. Programming spans the gamut of interesting talk, experimental, and variety shows to aural effluvia.

"Broadcasting from the middle of nowhere, to no one, it's 91.9 FM, WKCO."
